DESCRIPTION :
Lidded sugar bowl from prestigious manufacture RAYNAUD Limoges, known for its quality porcelain production.
Fine white porcelain. Ornaments of stylised garlands of foliages in gilt enamel. Lid with an embossed hazel leaf and two hazelnuts as handles. Gilt enamel extremely well preserved, still very shiny, no lack at all (another evidence of the manufacture’s high quality standards)
Signed both “RAYNAUD Limoges” with the gilt mark and “SIMON, 36 rue Etienne Marcel, Paris” which corresponds to the retailer’s name and address, as it was the habit at the period with fine porcelain boutiques.
France, circa 1950.
