What is leboncoin.fr ?
leboncoin.fr is kind of the french “craigslist”, a website of classified ads listed by both individuals and businesses located in France. It covers a wide range of products, from appliances to antiques, cell phones to toys & games, music instruments, clothes, tableware and various decorative objects.
How does leboncoin work ?
The seller provides a description and pictures of the item he’s willing to sell. Payments can be made online if the seller agrees to activate leboncoin’s integrated delivery service. Otherwise, the transactions will be offline only with payment in cash and hand-delivery. In the case of a transaction through leboncoin’s integrated delivery service, the buyer’s funds are frozen by leboncoin until he receives the item and confirms everything is ok.
Who can buy on leboncoin ?
Currently, leboncoin’s integrated delivery service is limited to destinations located in France only. Thus it’s impossible for anyone living outside France to directly buy on leboncoin.
Can you buy for me on leboncoin ?
If you find something on leboncoin that you definitely need, I’ll be happy to take in charge the entire process for you! I will ask the vendor for as much details as possible about the item you spotted, ask for more pictures if needed, pay, receive, check, carefully pack the item and ship it to you. I will even try as much as possible to estimate the related customs duty (if applicable) that will be applied to your parcel by your national customs authorities.
Please note that I can’t handle big furniture, electronic devices, or any item that would not fit in a 150x100x50cm box (that’s around 60″ x 40″ x 20″, so it’s already quite big)
How does it work in details between us ?
You spotted an item that you love on leboncoin ?
- Just send me the URL of the item thanks to the dedicated form below. The first thing I will do is give you an estimate for the packing & shipping costs from France to your residence country + the fee for my service (see “How much does your service cost?” below
- If you’d like to go further but need more details about an item, I will contact the seller and ask him for more info and/or pictures and provide you with their feedback. If it’s a product I know, I will add my own input as well if I’m aware of certains specificities or common issues with the item.
- Once you made your final decision to buy the item, you’ll be able to pay through my financial partner Stripe which offers a wide range of payment options (Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay…) or through Paypal.
- As soon as I receive the payment, I’ll be able to buy the item on leboncoin. Please just give me up to 7 or 8 hours to proceed in case of time difference between us, the ideal solution being to coordinate ourselves if possible so I buy right after I receive your payment.
- Once the payment is made on leboncoin, the seller has up to 48 hours to confirm the availability of the item (but usually does it immediately or at least the same day), and then up to 3 days to ship it. The delivery by the carrier usually takes 3 to 5 days.
- Once I receive the item, I’ll carefully check that nothing has been broken during transportation and that it’s as described in the listing. I will send you a video and pictures of the item so you can check on your side as well.
- In case there is a problem with the item, I will send it back to the seller and refund you.
- If the item is as described in the original listing, I will carefully pack it and organize the shipment to your address. I will send you the payment link for the shipping and packing costs + the fees for all my hard and thorough work for you!
- The delivery will be handled either by your national postal service or by an international carrier like UPS, DHL, DPD… I’ll let you know the different possibilities and you’ll tell me. Please note that for the USA, UPS will be the only shipping option. It will be a direct delivery only (delivery to your home), no delivery to pick-up points.
- Once you’ve paid for the customs duties (if applicable) and received your parcel, you have up to 14 days to notify me any faulty good. Please note that voluntary returns are not accepted
How long does the entire process last?
A large part of the job will depend on leboncoin’s seller, and how fast they will come back with answers to questions, confirm the availability of the item once the payment is made, and ship the item. Transit time with leboncoin’s delivery partners usually takes between 3 and 5 days. Once I receive the parcel, it won’t take me more than 2 days to safely pack it and ship it to you. Transit time will then depend on your residence country: 3 to 5 days if you’re in the European Union or in the United States, 7 to 10 days if you’re in Canada, 10 to 15 days if you’re in Australia or New Zealand. So all in all, you should count on around 10 days if you’re in the USA or the European Union, 2 weeks if you’re in Canada and 3 weeks if you’re Australia or New Zealand.
